At the meeting, the Lai Chau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the consulting unit reported on the implementation results and presented the key contents of the project, including: survey results and assessment of the current situation; spatial development orientation; technical infrastructure system; orientation for tourism product development and solutions for effectively exploiting the potential and advantages of the area.

According to the plan, the Sin Ho Plateau National Tourist Area is divided into four functional zones: Zone I - Festival Center, approximately 3,505 hectares in Sin Ho commune; Zone II - Community-based cultural tourism, approximately 8,530 hectares in Hong Thu commune; Zone III - Eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and spiritual tourism, approximately 6,316 hectares in the Sin Ho area; Zone IV - Health and wellness tourism, approximately 6,566 hectares in Tua Sin Chai and Sin Ho communes.

The delegates discussed and contributed many important ideas to finalize the project, ensuring its conformity with the Lai Chau Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, while harmonizing tourism development with the conservation of natural resources, landscapes, the cultural identity of ethnic groups, and local socio-economic development.

Suggestions were made to clarify the natural potential, climatic and hydrological conditions, and advantages for developing small-scale industries in order to transform difficulties and disadvantages into unique advantages, creating room for tourism development; to strengthen the connection of tourism spaces with the Lai Chau - Dien Bien reservoir area; to supplement the map of inter-regional and international transportation connections; to clearly identify the characteristic tourism products of each sub-area; and to study the development orientation of highland resorts suitable to the advantages of Sin Ho.

In addition, delegates also proposed supplementing the legal basis for data sources used in planning; improving the content on commercial and shopping spaces; fully updating the mechanisms and policies of the Central Government and the province related to tourism development; and organizing workshops to gather expert opinions.

At the meeting, some opinions suggested reviewing the scale of accommodation rooms to meet the criteria for recognition as a National Tourist Area by 2045; and simultaneously reviewing the current land use, mineral resources, and updating the transportation system in the planning area to ensure consistency and uniformity.

Concluding the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee, Tong Thanh Hai, requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to closely coordinate with the consulting unit to urgently organize a workshop to gather expert opinions in Hanoi, and to fully incorporate the opinions of relevant departments and agencies to finalize the project.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized the need to integrate the center of Sin Ho commune into the planning, aiming to make it the core area of the National Tourist Area; clarify the inter-provincial, inter-regional, and international transportation connection system; refer to the development experience of national tourist areas nationwide; and fully calculate plans to ensure water resources, technical infrastructure, and other necessary conditions for sustainable development.

At the same time, Mr. Hai requested the Lai Chau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the consulting unit to urgently incorporate feedback and finalize the planning documents, ensuring quality, feasibility, and progress according to regulations, so that they can be submitted to the competent authorities for consideration and approval as soon as possible.

Accelerating the progress of developing the Master Plan for the Sin Ho Plateau National Tourist Area is of great importance in concretizing the tourism development orientation of Lai Chau province, creating a legal basis to attract investment, develop infrastructure and unique tourism products, gradually transforming the Sin Ho Plateau into a national-level tourist area, contributing to making Lai Chau an attractive destination in the Northwest region and the whole country.
